Over the years, our incredible volunteers have helped transform our gardens into a haven for the local community. From our well-maintained allotments to our oasis pond and orchard, our creative landscapes offer both beautiful scenery and practical applications for visitors of all ages. For more information, or to discover how you can support our gardens, feel free to reach out to our team today.
Our volunteers have renovated beautiful landscapes for visitor to enjoy. These include:
Picnic area
Woodland
Orchard
Grass paddock
Sensory wellbeing garden
Queen’s memorial garden
Our volunteers and plot holders are committed to making the most of the 26 allotments plots, growing a wide range of fruit, vegetables and herbs. A recent cropping inventory covered over 25 different crops! We also utilise a polythene tunnel for protected cropping under “greenhouse” conditions. Not only do they allow protection against harsher weather conditions, but they also extend the growing season and increase the range of crops we can grow.
Discover our large pond with water supplied by a natural spring and located in the heart of our gardens. Throughout the season, our ‘oasis’ is home to all sorts of aquatic wildlife, from waterboatmen and dragonflies, to frogs and a prolific population of newts. Let us guide avid wildlife fans to spot and learn about our selection of underwater guests, including for school groups, mums and kids and “active retirement” groups.
